Volunteer Board Member

Dr. Bohannon received his undergraduate and Master’s degrees in audiology from the University of Georgia. After practicing audiology in Augusta, Georgia for years, he went on to further his education at the Pennsylvania School of Optometry, where he achieved his doctorate.  He has been with various Ear, Nose and Throat groups in town for over 25 years.  His enthusiasm for hearing diagnostics and hearing aids eventually convinced him to go into private practice.  His heartfelt conviction is that hearing aid patients need time and attention when adjusting to their new amplification.

He is currently in practice with Dr. Rebecca B. Hopkins and together  they operate Augusta Hearing and Balance on George C. Wilson Drive in Augusta.

Dr. Bohannon joined When HELP Can’t Wait as one of its first volunteer Board members in 2008.  Having worked with hearing needs patients in nursing homes, his first- hand knowledge is invaluable to WHCW and its mission.  His involvement in the community through organizations like Augusta Exchange Club and others, serves to make him a well-informed, well-rounded addition to our Board as we strive to address community needs in our area nursing homes.
Dr. Bohannon and his beautiful wife, Harriette make their home in Augusta.
