When HELP Can't Wait exists to supply very current needs for the comfort and convenience of nursing home residents that cannot be readily funded by the facility where they reside. With Health care costs and minimum wage rising, these facilities are stretched to fund the regulated needs. "Quality of Life" items are simply the last to be funded as a result. The average stay in a long term facility has dropped from 3 years to 2.5. The target population are all at/or below the poverty level. Today's residents simply Cannot Wait for Funding - We Must Act NOW!!
Mark Your Calendars! Saturday March 27th we will have an Indoor Sale at WINDMILL PLANTATION Club House. It is located at the Tennis Court entrance of Windmill Plantation, located off William Few Pkwy, just off Washington Road. It is an 'UPSCALE' yard sale of nicer antique and new merchandise donated to WHCW. We will feature Easter Baskets, Stuffed Animals, Baby Items, Beautifully crafted Quilts and Knitted Items and Antique Purses, New Shoes and Wallets, and the list goes on.

CHRISTMAS in the Nursing Homes this year was joyous! We received such wonderful help from businesses and civic groups and churches who assisted with gifts, parties, and caroling. Our sincere thanks to all the generous hearts that helped bring much needed comfort and joy to our residents.
To the many who dropped gifts off at our office - your gifts will keep on giving into the New Year. The gifts of cash were also very welcome and much needed. May God richly bless all of you in the New Year!

Saturday, February 20 2010:
This past week we held a "Pajama Party" in one of our Nursing Homes, complete with donuts, coffee and cheese puffs! Everyone got to choose a new gown or pajamas and some got new house slippers. It was fun for all as WHCW volunteers pranced around in our pajama tops as we visted with the residents. There is no doubt that whether they found the perfect pajamas or not - they LOVED the donuts and cheese puffs and licked their fingers to prove it!!

NEWS FLASH! There are Angels among us. For two years we have enjoyed Air Force men and women from Ft Gordon, GA assisting us in visits to the Nursing Homes, hosting parties for them, delivering gifts and helping us with fund raisers that sometimes brought them out at 4:00 a.m. to help set-up.
Our primary liaison is readying for an immediate tour of Afghanistan and our heart will go with him. He has recruited his replacement, but he will be sorely missed.
We ask that you join us in praying for all these brave young people who protect our country and give so much of themselves, unselfishly. Our sincere thanks to the Commanders at Ft Gordon who encourage their volunteerism. We can all be very proud of these young Americans who show such love and compassion for our Nursing Home residents.

Our website is growing with us! Thanks to the efforts of Splice Media, we have been able to revamp our website. We rely heavily on our website as a resource for gaining volunteers and receiving donations that help us meet the needs of nursing home residents in the CSRA area. We are very excited about the changes we have made to our online home, and we hope you enjoy our new website.
